Hi, I had to take my 6mm PA out for an MRI, didn't get it back in quickly enough and it started to close up.
Managed to get an old ring back in, but it's only around 2/2.5mm.
Do I have to wait for it to stretch itself again, or could I go back to the piercer to have it stretched up?
I was nearly moving to 8mm and now I'm gutted!
Thanks.

Re: PA stretch help!
if you need another MRI in the future, I would expect that you could use a silicone tube or polyurethane cylindrical belt of the correct diameter as a retainer.

Thanks, already looking at threaded rings so I can take it in and out easily enough!robertdurst wrote: ↑Thu Oct 16, 2025 5:04 pm if you need another MRI in the future, I would expect that you could use a silicone tube or polyurethane cylindrical belt of the correct diameter as a retainer.
After a bit of mucking around, I think I'm back to about 4mm now, so it's progress, but only halfway there.

You'll get there. I usually wear my 00 guage but sometimes it becomes too heavy and I revert back to my 2 guage. things do "shrink" but after wearing the 2 guage for a few days, it opens back up easily to accept a 0 or 00. Good luck

I recently had a series of MRI scans due to stroke. I told the medical staff about my piercings. All we did was heck them with a magnet, they were all non magnetic titanium or surgical steel. All were left in, that's nipples, Hafadas and PA, there were no issues during the scans, just compliments from a few nurses

Re: PA stretch help!
My PA has been stretched to 0 ga., and I can wear a 00 ga. I've had the piercing since 1997 and stretched from 2017.
My experience is that I can actually go days, or weeks, without anything in the piercing hole. When I put jewellery in, I can almost always go straight to a 0 ga., and if not then a 2 ga. For the first couple of hours, there may be a slight "burn" (not always), and for the first 2 days the piercing is "tight". After 2 days, the piercing seems to "relax" to the point that a 0 ga. barbell with end balls will fall right out! I don't want to go to 00 ga. full time because I don't want to risk splitting the head of my penis (meatotomy) and I'm not looking for that.
My advice to you would be to go to the most comfortable size that you are able to insert, and then just give it some time. After a couple of days, you can go up again, if you want.
Make sure you want to go big....it can be a hassle at times and you will need to get used to sitting down to piss without making a mess! Do I regret going big, not really...it was who I was at the time...and I do get a pleasure out of looking at it, playing with it, or inserting the larger gauges but, as noted, it can be inconvenient. Keep things in balance.
