time machine

Unread post by toadst00l »

Just open the site bmevideo.com (184.80.18.39).

It's not bmevideo. Currently it points to a snapshot of what bmezine used to be before (or rather immediately after) the hostile takeover by Rachel and before it was replaced by the pointless crap it is now. You can't browse past 2 pages of every gallery, but you can categorize e.g. nipple piercings by Artist Name and by Studio name, and this opens access to many hundreds of pictures. Search and other offsite functions don't work.

I don't know what's the explanation and whom should we thank for this, but I'm pretty sure that this can't last long, so hurry up and leech all you can. Or just enjoy a moment of nostalgy remembering the world when it was a better place.

This is brilliant. Thanks for this. I never really figured out what happened to BME, all I really know is it went away and came back shit. You would think they might acknowledge that they had fucked up and try and sort it out a bit. Same with myspace.. redesign = mass exodus!

if you want a better time machine - use

http://wayback.archive.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

these folk crawl pretty much the whole web and create snapshots of each site through time.
All you do is enter the web address you are interested in and it shows you the snapshots they have taken over the years. You can then click on them to magically go back in time.

Its a very useful tool......errr....for many things :roll: :roll: :roll:

Yes indeed, but their data integrity is very lossy. This is especially true with images. Try to recover galleries from toddbertrang.com as a test.

Still, combining archive.org and bmezine->bmevideo substitution, one can find nice stuff :)

It was nice while it lasted.

Here's wishing all the bad things imaginable to Rachel and her gang.
