What does a tattoo of a daffodil mean? Any thoughts?

Hi, I’ve been mulling over the idea of getting a small tattoo for a few weeks now. I wanted something with real meaning rather than just a random design I saw on a wall in the living room. So I started looking for ideas related to my birthdate and came across the daffodil, which happens to be the flower of March. I’ve never had a flower-themed tattoo before personally, I was more into things like triskeles or lettering so this is a bit new for me. While doing some research, I came across an article that clearly explains the meaning behind a daffodil tattoo, which helped me decide on the style between a minimalist look and something more illustrative with colors. I’m still torn between my lower abdomen and my hip for the placement; I figure the hip won’t shift as much over time, but then again, I’m no expert. Two weeks ago, I stopped by a tattoo parlor near the train station in Metz to discuss the project; they scheduled an appointment for me in a month, which gives me plenty of time to choose the final design. I’m budgeting around 120 euros since it’s supposed to be small. As for the yellow color, I’ve read that it requires a bit more maintenance over time than black it’s just something to keep in mind before going ahead with it. If any of you already have a tattoo in that area the hip or lower abdomen I’d love to hear your feedback on the pain and how it looks over time. Let me know what you think.
