https://www.loctiteproducts.com/en/prod ... ed271.html

For those interested the above product was used to seal my nipple shackles

As you can see - even if I could find an Allen key there is no way that I could undo the pins

No need to be insulting. Proving me wrong would have been sufficient.
Never saw them live or ever before. And didn't find them using google either.
I still can't imagine a ‘normal’ purpose, but anyway, thank you very much for the link.
frances wrote: Fri Jun 07, 2024 1:55 pm You can see from the attached link that 'no snag'
Eyeletless shacjes are made and even the illustration shows the Allen key socket needed to open and close the shackle
I already knew how to use them without your explanation, but thanks anyway. I am now much more puzzled about what it is used for 'regularly'.

It was your attitude that set me off

Often things do exist that you may just have not seen or been aware of !!

As for real life use - on our sailboat the eyeless shackles are used to fasten ropes to chains for a smooth no snag connection -- and now of course as very permanent and demanding rings in my nipples

For sure. That's why I called you to prove me wrong in the first place.

I also like to sail and own a boat and never used or saw somebody use eyeless shackles. Just fasten ropes to anything? Some kind of carbine. Lighter and still smoother. Do I have to release that connection under strong pull? Shackles - with any mechanism, but not allen key for sure. Just saying.

Tried to find pictures of regular use. Didn't find any. But google and I are not realy good friends.

how do you open and close them without the eyelets?
Eyelets have be removed with a metal saw, then a slit was made also with the saw, so I can remove the screw with a scewdriver...

I reset their account a few weeks ago. I'm waiting for further issues before banning.
