For those interested the above product was used to seal my nipple shackles

As you can see - even if I could find an Allen key there is no way that I could undo the pins

Never saw them live or ever before. And didn't find them using google either.
I still can't imagine a ‘normal’ purpose, but anyway, thank you very much for the link.

Eyeletless shacjes are made and even the illustration shows the Allen key socket needed to open and close the shackle

I already knew how to use them without your explanation, but thanks anyway. I am now much more puzzled about what it is used for 'regularly'.

As for real life use - on our sailboat the eyeless shackles are used to fasten ropes to chains for a smooth no snag connection -- and now of course as very permanent and demanding rings in my nipples

As for real life use - on our sailboat the eyeless shackles are used to fasten ropes to chains for a smooth no snag connection

I also like to sail and own a boat and never used or saw somebody use eyeless shackles. Just fasten ropes to anything? Some kind of carbine. Lighter and still smoother. Do I have to release that connection under strong pull? Shackles - with any mechanism, but not allen key for sure. Just saying.

eyelet has been removed

how do you open and close them without the eyelets?

Eyelets have be removed with a metal saw, then a slit was made also with the saw, so I can remove the screw with a scewdriver...
