If the story in that link was real then I'd call you a sick fuck - what kind of person thinks that anyone/any woman deserves to be in an abusive relationship and have their face irreparably damaged in a life changing way against their will?

I think that looks a little bit too much like a well-healed tattoo, you wouldn't get that kind of colour saturation in a tattoo that was unwanted and thus not looked after. The colour would have dropped out.

Well, in theory... Since she explicitly says she doesn't KNOW what it resembles or means, it might as well have been intended to resemble something like a Kabuki mask (that would tie in with the line around the face). She just doesn't know. She didn't claim it was anything to do with Phantom Of The Opera or anything.

If someone was knowledgeable enough to do the kanji lettering, he would have to know about Japanese culture, right? So maybe your interpretation of the source is correct, they just TOLD her it meant whore or whatever.

To me, though, the tats all look of a different quality and age. The zipper looks different to the lettering, which looks different to the blue stuff.

Still sounds fishy.
