Who is moderating/admin-ing this board?

- Has not replied to my personal message (almost 2 months ago) to restore my original account, fine, I have this second account now.
- Spammers keep on spamming but don't get banned, posts are being removed by the mods though?

So the admin is absent, I think it's time to give the mods some more rights?
Like restoring my account and banning those spammers permanently?

This is a nice board, it would be a shame if it went to shit.

Any thoughts on this?

I got appointed as one of the mods and I'm able to remove threads and posts. I think someone else got added at the same time I did. I've been keeping on top of the spam as best I can. I asked about the threads with the fileshare links and it sounded like those were considered OK, so I haven't been removing them. I don't have permissions to manage accounts, so I haven't tackled the spam from that angle.

We delete posts and threads as we see them, but that’s about all we have the rights to do. I do my best to delete the spam as i see it, or as it is reported.

Only the admin has the rights to ban users, reset your account etc. Sadly the admin doesn't log in regularly.

Update.

I have now banned all active spammers at time of writing, and as I now have the admin’s agreement will start deleting the historical spam and file sharing links etc.

This will take time to complete, so please bear with me.

Please report any new spam posts and they will be dealt with.

Oh, nice! I'd hoped we'd come around to getting rid of that fileshare spam but no motion when I'd asked before. Glad to hear it!

Yes - I’ve deleted 4 or 5 million posts, made by a total of around 20 users.

Should be a lot easier to manage and moderate now.
